Swiss Currency
Swiss currency was not formally introduced until 1798. At that time, the Swiss franc was created based on the Berne thaler, which was equal to 6 3/4 grams of pure silver or 1 1/2 French francs. Today, Switzerland does not use the Euro, Swiss francs are still used and issued through the Swiss Mint.
